Eligibility Criteria:
Not all international students are eligible automatically. Before applying, you must fulfill every requirement on each scholarship criteria, not just the majority of them.
President’s Scholarship for World Leaders:
- You must be an international student enrolling in the University of Winnipeg’s first program (undergraduate, graduate, collegiate, or PACE).
- Based on Grade 12 academic courses taken for entrance, you must have the equivalent of a Canadian 80% grade average (UWinnipeg’s credential evaluators handle the conversion).
- Post-secondary transcripts are used to evaluate PACE applicants.
- You must exhibit outstanding leadership abilities.
- By the scholarship deadline, your admission application must be finished, including all costs and supporting documentation.
- You have to enroll in and keep up a full-time academic load.
Wu Chung Scholarship:
- You must be a resident of Guangzhou (Huadu) or Hong Kong, China.
- For international admission to UWinnipeg, you must be eligible for a valid Canadian study permit and fulfill all academic and English language competency requirements.
- You cannot have previously attended any other post-secondary educational institution.
- Although the process is tough and higher averages are stronger, a minimum 70% grade average (or equivalent) from eligible Level 3 high school courses is necessary.
- You must demonstrate your outstanding leadership abilities and your capacity to have an influence on the community once you graduate.

The last date to apply for University of Winnipeg Scholarship 2026 in Canada for International Students is 1st June 2026 for Fall 2026 while its 1st October 2026 for Winter 2027.
How to Apply for the University of Winnipeg Scholarship?
- The two-track application procedure for the University of Winnipeg President’s Scholarship for World Leaders is conducted concurrently with your application for admission.
- Your scholarship application won’t be considered if you don’t first apply for admission to the University of Winnipeg. This is where you get your UWinnipeg student number.
- After obtaining that student number, you fill out the separate online scholarship application form and submit the necessary files, which include two reference letters, a current resume or CV, and a personal statement outlining your objectives and leadership experience.
- If a document was written in a language other than English, it must be translated into English.
- One important rule: incomplete admission packages are automatically disqualified, and each applicant may only submit once per cycle.
