The Centre for Design History at the University of Brighton is accepting applications for an International Visiting Research Fellow, encouraging renowned scholars from around the world to join its lively research community. This British fellowship opportunity allows scholars working in the broad domains of design and visual and material culture to connect with CDH’s global network of over 50 members, which includes curators, designers, artists, and academics.
CDH investigates the production and consumption of visual and material culture (pictures and things) in their broadest social and cultural settings, spanning multiple histories and geographies. We take a multidisciplinary approach to understanding how design, in all of its manifestations, has shaped things, locations, and behaviors over time. Our members contribute to an ‘expanded field’ of design history that embraces the intersection of professional and non-professional practices; digital and analogue artifacts; the decentering of design practice away from the singular object to complex ecologies, objects, and systems; and the role of design and material culture in everyday life.
The fellowship promotes intellectual interaction and worldwide involvement, providing a platform for researchers to progress their work in one of the UK’s most interdisciplinary design research environments. Must check Fully Funded Italian Scholarships Without IELTS 2025 | Study Free in Italy.
