Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be citizens of a country other than Switzerland and the EU/EEA;
- Applicants must have applied for a full program at Umeå University* (Bachelor’s or Master’s);
- Candidates must have finished their application for program studies before the application deadline on January 15, 2026; Candidates must have paid the application fee by February 2, 2026
- Applicants must have selected a Umeå University program as priority 1 on the University Admissions website.
- Because it is a double degree program, the Master of Sustainability Reporting and Financial Analysis program is ineligible.
- Students who must pay tuition but are exempt from the application fee are also eligible for a scholarship.

How to Apply for the Umeå University Scholarship?

- The deadline for applying to Umeå University’s bachelor’s or master’s program for the autumn 2026 semester and choosing the program as Priority 1 on the University Admissions portal is January 15, 2026.
- Scholarship invitations will not be given to applications that are classified as lower priority or those that are submitted after this date.
- By February 2, 2026, all applicants who must pay an application fee must do so via the University Admissions portal.
- Scholarship eligibility is maintained for applicants who are exempt from the application fee but still need to pay tuition; these applicants are evaluated alongside those who pay the application cost.
- Applicants who match the eligibility standards will get individualized scholarship invitation emails from Umeå University between February 4 and 9, 2026.
- The scholarship interest registration process is only open to students who get this invitation.
- The last day to express interest in a Umeå University scholarship for the Autumn 2026 intake is March 4, 2026, at 23:59 CET.
- You will be automatically excluded from the scholarship selection process if you don’t finish this step by the deadline.
- In late April 2026, all candidates will get an email with the scholarship selection results for the Umeå University Scholarships 2026.
