Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. manufactures electric wires and optical fiber cables. Its main office is located in Chūō-ku, Osaka, Japan. Sumitomo Electric was established in 1897 in Osaka, Japan, and now operates a wide range of businesses in five industries: automotive, electronics, industrial materials, energy and environment, and information communications. It began producing in the era of horse-drawn carriages and have since expanded to become a massive organization employing over 280,000 people.

The Global Internship will be held in Yokohama and Osaka, Japan, and there is no application fee. The internship will last for ten to twelve weeks. The program’s goal is to give participants practical work experience at Sumitomo Electric Industries’ corporate headquarters or research and development facilities.
