EERC Internship Program 2025 for Nigerian Students:
Applications are invited to apply for the EERC Internship Program 2025 in Nigeria. National students are welcome to apply for the internship program. The EERC operates four key programs: agriculture and environmental management (AEM), natural resource conservation (NRC), livelihood and economic development (LED), and human resource and capacity building. The Environmental and Economic Resource Centre is a scientific research organization that works with a network of local and international partners to promote and improve inclusive agriculture, sustainable livelihoods, natural resource conservation, and environmental management throughout Africa. EERC conducts research and capacity building to produce policies, scalable technology, and innovative practices that have a real impact on poverty reduction, food security, ecosystem health, conservation, and income generation.
The internship request for 2025 seeks to leverage evidence-based research in Nigeria’s agricultural sector to assist policymakers in analyzing and developing policies, particularly those addressing climate change and food security. As a result, EERC is looking for qualified people for an internship. This year’s internship programs will let early-career scientists do research in any of the following theme areas, such as climate change and food security, climate-smart agriculture, carbon markets and green finance, agricultural value chains, food loss, and food waste. Focus Area:

Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the EERC Internship Program 2025 in Nigeria, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Female candidates are especially encouraged to apply for this internship.
- Have at least a BSc or MSc degree in
- Agricultural Science,
- Agricultural Economics,
- Agronomy,
- Environmental Science,
- Climate Change,
- with no more than five years of postgraduate experience.
- Show a strong interest in research, policy, or field-based project execution.
- Be available for the complete three-month internship.
- Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and writing skills.
- Be willing to collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams.
Application Deadline:
The last date to apply for the EERC Internship Program 2025 in Nigeria for international students is 29th August 2025.
How to Apply for the EERC Internship Program?
- All submitted applications will be examined to ensure they fit the qualifying requirements, and the selection committee will undertake a thorough evaluation to choose the best submissions.
- Grading will be based entirely on meeting the eligibility requirements, the research profile (publications), and the quality of the research proposal.
- Shortlisted contenders will be interviewed again to determine their ability to deliver on the provided proposal.
- Selected applicants will be notified by email no later than September 8, 2025.
- Please keep in mind that after receiving the internship award notification, selected applicants will be required to produce a letter of release from their respective heads of institution or IT representative.

- Prospective candidates must be ready to begin the internship by September 15, 2025.
