International travellers flying to India must once again complete the Air Suvidha Self Declaration Form before departure. The requirement comes with the launch of AIR SUVIDHA 2.0, a new digital health screening portal introduced in response to the Ebola outbreak in parts of Africa.
The upgraded platform allows passengers to submit their health declaration up to 24 hours before arriving in India. Travellers are advised to complete the form during web check-in and carry the downloaded acknowledgement for verification at the International Travel Health Desk or Immigration.
Who Needs to Fill the Air Suvidha Form?
The requirement applies to all international passengers arriving in India, including Indian passport holders returning from overseas. The declaration includes:
- Travel history for the previous 21 days
- Any possible exposure to Ebola
- Health symptoms, if applicable
The information is shared with health authorities, immigration officials and state surveillance teams to identify travellers who may need additional screening.
How to Fill the Air Suvidha Health Declaration Form
- Visit the official Air Suvidha portal: https://airsuvidha.civilaviation.gov.in.
- Enter your personal details, including your full name, nationality, passport number and other identification details.
- Provide your contact information and verify your mobile number or email using the OTP sent by the portal.
- Enter your flight details, including airline, flight number, seat number (if available), arrival date and airport of entry.
- Complete the health declaration by providing your travel history for the past 21 days, answering questions about possible Ebola exposure and declaring any symptoms, if applicable.
- Review all the information carefully and submit the form.
- Download or save the submitted Self-Declaration Form and present it, either digitally or as a printed copy, at the International Travel Health Desk or Immigration counter upon arrival in India.
Why Has India Brought Back Air Suvidha?
The move follows the World Health Organisation’s declaration of the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern in May 2026.
We’ve seen this playbook before. Digital health declarations are quickly becoming the first line of defence whenever countries face cross-border disease outbreaks.
What Foreign Travellers Should Do
If you are flying to India from any international destination:
- Complete the Air Suvidha Self Declaration Form within 24 hours before arrival.
- Fill it in before boarding, preferably during web check-in.
- Download or save the submitted form.
- Present it at the International Travel Health Desk or Immigration after landing.
The portal is available at: https://airsuvidha.civilaviation.gov.in
Take
We believe this is a sensible public health measure. Completing the form takes only a few minutes, and doing it before departure can help Indian travellers avoid delays after landing.
