Financial Benefits:
The British Academy Mid Career Fellowship 2025 will cover the following expenses:
- These Fellowships fall under the Full Economic Costing (FEC) framework, although the Academy’s contribution is calculated at 80% of this sum, with the Academy’s contribution to the pay of the Mid-Career Fellow capped at £80,000.
- The total value of an award is not expected to exceed £152,000 (80 percent Academy payment to FEC).
- Awards might be valid for a minimum of six months and a maximum of twelve months.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for the British Academy Mid Career Fellowship 2025, international students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- You are normally within 15 years of receiving your PhD (or first academic appointment if you do not have a doctorate).
You’ve already established yourself in your profession and can effectively communicate your work to the general audience. - The Academy is specifically seeking to help academics in their mid-career. Potential award recipients must be working at a university, higher education institution, or independent research organization located in the United Kingdom.
- The Academy does not consider an applicant’s physical age or present situation while considering candidacy for these awards.
- Rather, these awards are intended to provide opportunities for researchers who have already made an outstanding contribution to their field and have distinguished themselves as an excellent communicator and ‘champion’ in their field and who are typically within 15 years of receiving their doctorate.
- The Academy will make appropriate allowances for applicants who have had career breaks, as well as established researchers who do not have doctorates and are within fifteen years of their initial academic position.
