Any intern who meets the requirements set forth by their jurisdiction and educational institution is eligible to receive a monthly stipend.
The base pay for full-time interns based in Geneva is 2,660 CHF per month.
The pay for internships that are not full-time is prorated based on the intern’s estimated time commitment to CIEL.
Stipends are not meant to establish a legal or employment relationship between the intern and CIEL or alter the legal basis of the internship program in any other way; rather, they are meant to make the CIEL internship more accessible to prospective professionals.

Eligibility Criteria:

In order to be considered for the CIEL Internship Program 2026 in Switzerland (Paid), students must:

For the period of the internship, candidates must be enrolled in a graduate program at a recognized university that leads to a degree.
You must have earned a legal degree (such as an LLM or JD) or be pursuing one.
Candidates must be available for at least 24 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks and a maximum of 24 weeks.
Candidates should have taken graduate-level courses or had similar job experience that provides some exposure to international environmental or human rights law.
